December, thus far

I haven't been on for awhile, but since I am now 45, I thought I'd tell you a little about my day!
But first, I will talk a little about the week-end!
We had a suprise 80th birthday party for my mother-in-law! It turned out to be so great! Every one of her kids was able to make it and a whole lot of her grand kids and great grand kids. We had some of the grand kids in a limo to go pick her up and then the rest of us his around the front of her garage and yelled "SUPRIZE!" when she came out to get in the limo. Well, she was very suprized and delighted!
We then went to the restaurant and had pictures and a delightful meal, where we all stood up and said something about Alice and I made my sweet husband film it all. I need to now make copies of that dvd and send to all of the family. After the restaurant, we went back to Burts house, (Ed's brother) and watched home movies. What fun. It was perfect for everyone, I hope.
Now for my birthday!
It started out great! A lot of well wishes from my hubby and kids, and then a fun card from my brother when he dropped of his son, my huggy, squeezy buggaboo! After he fell asleep, I left my 12 year old in charge and I went to the store to find green twist ties. After 3 stores, I gave up and got green wire. Got home and Ryker was still sleeping! (needless to say, I ran while I was shopping to make it quick)
I am now making my Christmas tree, a pre-lit tree, so I don't have to re-string year after year.
I did not finish wiring the lights on the tree, I'm hoping to finish that part today so the kids can decorate with all the ornaments they have been receiving over the years.
This year, we are doing something different yet again. We are having a family experience instead of gifts. We are going to go on vacation and experience new things instead of putting more stuff in the house and having to find places for that stuff. We are trying to simplify and get rid of the things that we really don't need. It's liberating and sorry to say, a slow process. Lot's of memories are attatched to some of the stuff, which makes it hard to get rid of. But on we go. Now I need go and play with my darling little nephew!
