I DID IT!

Did you notice that there is now a picture on the site!?! Yep! That's me and my Ed at Disney land last week!
We decided as a family to have a vacation and share and experience, instead of buying things that we are going to have to find places for. We are also going to work on decluttering the house. (Thank you Oprah!) I love her shows on decluttering, because I don't have cable, I very rarely get to see 'Clean Sweep'. Which I have to say is a favorite of mine!
Anyway, back to the vacation! We had a blast! We stayed our first night out at my sister and brother-in-laws home in Las Vegas. That was a fun visit. Got to watch some rodeo, which I have not seen in years, good time, and a very nummy and wonderful breakfast! I am so glad that they will be moving closer so I can see more of them.
We then went on to California, confirmed that we had no pets or fruit and hit disney land! Saturdays, always crowded, but still fun. Sunday, church and move to the condo in Capistrano beach. Gorgeous sunset! Room with an ocean view! Monday- Universal studios, Tuesday-Sea World, Wednesday-back to disney land, Thursday-Day off! Just vegitated, watched TV, went shopping, rested the footsies and went to the beach and checked out the tide pools, Friday-last day at disney land, Saturday-San Diego Zoo, Sunday-head back home-traffic terrible, takes much more time to get to Vegas from California, kids get to see all 5 Harry Potters from start of trip to finish. Amazing!
And in stopping in Vegas on way home, got to hug and visit with Net and Ricks crew! Major fun! I'll add more about Christmas later, right now, I'm going to watch a movie with my sister

December, thus far

I haven't been on for awhile, but since I am now 45, I thought I'd tell you a little about my day!
But first, I will talk a little about the week-end!
We had a suprise 80th birthday party for my mother-in-law! It turned out to be so great! Every one of her kids was able to make it and a whole lot of her grand kids and great grand kids. We had some of the grand kids in a limo to go pick her up and then the rest of us his around the front of her garage and yelled "SUPRIZE!" when she came out to get in the limo. Well, she was very suprized and delighted!
We then went to the restaurant and had pictures and a delightful meal, where we all stood up and said something about Alice and I made my sweet husband film it all. I need to now make copies of that dvd and send to all of the family. After the restaurant, we went back to Burts house, (Ed's brother) and watched home movies. What fun. It was perfect for everyone, I hope.
Now for my birthday!
It started out great! A lot of well wishes from my hubby and kids, and then a fun card from my brother when he dropped of his son, my huggy, squeezy buggaboo! After he fell asleep, I left my 12 year old in charge and I went to the store to find green twist ties. After 3 stores, I gave up and got green wire. Got home and Ryker was still sleeping! (needless to say, I ran while I was shopping to make it quick)
I am now making my Christmas tree, a pre-lit tree, so I don't have to re-string year after year.
I did not finish wiring the lights on the tree, I'm hoping to finish that part today so the kids can decorate with all the ornaments they have been receiving over the years.
This year, we are doing something different yet again. We are having a family experience instead of gifts. We are going to go on vacation and experience new things instead of putting more stuff in the house and having to find places for that stuff. We are trying to simplify and get rid of the things that we really don't need. It's liberating and sorry to say, a slow process. Lot's of memories are attatched to some of the stuff, which makes it hard to get rid of. But on we go. Now I need go and play with my darling little nephew!
